Today Grady turns THREE! It has gone so fast and he has grown into such a cute little man. We have been working on potty training for about 4 months. We haven't really pushed him too hard. We got all the necessities (little potty seat to go on the big toilet, step stool, underwear, and treats in a jar labelled with a picture of a potty) and went through the routine a few times to be sure he knew how. When we put him in underwear at home he did really good right away. The only reason it took so long was because he absolutely REFUSED to go potty at daycare. He spend about 5 hours a day there 3 days a week so he really had to get over that hurdle before we could fully potty train him. Last week he saw a dinosaur egg that opened up and had a dinosaur in it at daycare. He told his teacher he really wanted that dinosaur egg. She brilliantly told him he could have it as soon as he went potty at school. He ran over to the bathroom and pulled his pants down and went! (He stood up for the first time too. LOL) He got his dinosaur egg and has been wearing underwear with only 1 accident since! YAY! I can't tell you how excited we are! I was really hoping he would potty train by age 3 and he did it! We've also been telling him that we would go to Dinosaur Park once he is potty trained so we will be doing that later this week to celebrate.
For his birthday I took Sunday night off because I usually have to rush off to work after family dinners. So we celebrated with Jake's family he got lost of fun gifts and had a good time. He wanted all 6 of the balloon birthday candles on his cake and he blew them all out in one shot! We will celebrate with my family in a week or two. We got him a Buzz Lightyear bike but gave it to him on Friday because it was such a nice day.
This one makes me laugh. He was trying to make a sad face.
