Disneyland
We just got back from our first real family vacation and it was mostly fun. I say mostly because 3 out of the 4 of us got the stomach flu so that part wasn't fun. The night before we were supposed to leave Grady woke up around midnight and was throwing up for about 2 hours. We were thinking "oh no do we have to cancel our trip?". Then all day Friday he was fine so we packed up and got in the car. We'd gotten as far as North Salt Lake when he threw up ALL over the car! We went to my sister Jeannette's house and got him and the car cleaned up while we decided if we should continue or not. He was acting fine, no fever or any other symptoms so we cautiously continued our drive. We figured if we needed to stay the night somewhere and turn around the next day we would. We made it to St. George and were all tired so we stopped for the night, got up the next morning and got back on the road. We made it to our hotel near Disneyland Saturday afternoon without anymore incidents. It was an awesome room! It had two queen beds, a fridge, microwave, and a second room separated by a glass door for the kids. The kids room had a bunk bed, their own little table and chairs, their own TV, and their own bathroom! So we got checked in and headed over to Disneyland. As soon as we got their Jake wasn't feeling good(this was the start of his stomach flu) so he and Grady only stayed for a minute, then headed back to the hotel. Hallie and I stayed and rode some rides, got her a build-a-bear, and watched the fireworks. Early the next morning she climbed off the top bunk, climbed in bed with me and told me she felt like she was going to throw up. Oh Great....We should have canceled. So Jake and Hallie were sick all day Sunday so we all just hung out at the hotel and watched movies. Luckily there was a Target near by so I got us stocked up on some flu supplies like 7-up, saltines, and laundry soap. Our hotel also has a washer and dryer so that came in handy! Sunday night we were all feeling like some fresh air so we drove to Crystal Cove and spent some time on the beach. It was a little chilly that night, but it felt good to get out.
Monday everyone was feeling better, not 100%, but better. So we FINALLY got to go spend a day at Disneyland. We had planned to go to San Diego for a day and go to Seaworld, but since we lost a day to the flu that didn't happen. All in all we had fun, Grady's favorite ride was the Finding Nemo submarine ride. Hallie's favorite was Big Thunder Mountain. It is nice to have tall kids because they could go on pretty much any ride they wanted.
We also met up with Jake's cousin Brett and his cute family. They took us to dinner at Ruby's which is on the end of a pier at Newport beach. It was a very cool experience!

Looks like fun! I'm glad you got to go to the happiest place on earth :)
I'm glad you had a good trip minus the flu. At least you had a cool hotel room to spend your flu day in.
Ah, the memories :) What hotel did you guys stay at?
